I got a 3M projector stand for my iPhone 4S. This product is marketed as something you can put in the back pocket of your jeans and open at the right moment to become the jealous owner of the coolest device ever, share viral videos, photo slideshows, and blockbusters. from Movies in the Dark Room. But wait, there's more. It even charges your phone. Sarcasm aside, it does everything I was initially hesitant to do when I read the "35 ANSI Lumens" brightness level. Most 4:3 business conference room projectors weigh between 2500 and 4500 lumens, 35 sounds too low. Scale and contrast are important when viewing content in a home theater context. So how does the PS4100 compare? In a dark bedroom, placed against an unobstructed wall, it displays movies and photos well. Not so great in a conference room full of stuffed shirts. For business travelers or those who jump in to talk to a small group, this may not be for you. In fact, the 3M MP410 mobile projector will be a good choice for road warriors. It's great and perfect for playing videos for a group of friends gathered in the living room. I tested this unit on an iPod Touch and used it to play National Treasure movies from 8 feet away. white wall The gameplay is perfect. A full charge will take approximately 60-90 minutes depending on the design mode used. I use it with the charging cable plugged in. I expect this number to decrease as the projector ages. I really can't use myself that much. However, I used it to display some photos at a family gathering after Thanksgiving dinner. In this capacity, he was successfully used. But I usually use my iPod Touch and Apple Video Cable to watch movies on my HDTV. Bottom line... Yes, this device has a very large gadget factor. I'm not skinny enough to wear skinny jeans, and even if I did, I wouldn't put my iPhone 4S in my back pocket with this thing. But for casual meetings and the ability to quickly display content, it works.

Before this 3M projector came along, I had two major problems. 1) Will it be bright enough? 2) Which iPhone apps are compatible? This is what I found. 1) Brightness is quite good. The 3M spec says brightness "up to ANSI 35 lumens" (from 3M's own specs). While it may look small, I found it to project photos, videos and text very well when used as recommended. "As recommended" means 10 to 60 inches diagonally. This is definitely a "hobby" device. Do not plan a professional business presentation with this projector. Keep your expectations reasonable. In a dimly lit room, when you project iPhone to a wall 10 feet away, images and text look great. 2) I'm afraid this device will be limited to Apple's video and photo apps and nothing else. I'm happy to find that it works with some of my programs. However, there are some programs that do not work with this projector. So here are some features to look out for (and remember what works may depend on the version of iOS you're running, as well as the version of each app you're using).* Netflix. works like for iOS. 5.1 and iOS from 6* Hulu Plus. Both work (although I had to update the app... Older versions of Hulu Plus don't work)* YouTube. Works on iOS 5.1 but not iOS6 (probably because Apple has moved YouTube from its original app and the downloadable YouTube app is not in development)* Official Apple Photos and Videos: Don't scroll your photos, swipe. .. you stay in control of the slideshow timer)* Key note: Both work according to 3M specs, which says these devices are for iOS 4 and iOS 5. However, I had no problem using them with iOS 6. There are other reasons to recommend them :* I love that the case can be used as a charger for my iPhone. In other words, when I don't need to use it as a projector, it can double as a backup charger. Please note that it cannot be used as a projector and charger at the same time. One or the other.* There is a button that lets you switch between projection modes; a mode for brighter video, a mode for clearer contrast when viewing text, and a mode for saving battery power by dimming the screen. 3M says it will last about 100 minutes before recharging. Although I haven't tested it, I assume it means "100 minutes using battery saver mode". keep your phone safe. Moving the phone takes a lot of effort. In other words, when the phone is in your arm, no matter how you hold it, you don't have to worry about slipping or falling. Please note that this is not intended to be protective. I'd leave it in the case if you want to use it as a charger or projector. Overall, this is a good projector for the price. It works with apps I care about (but not YouTube, so it's not a deal breaker for me). Want to show a video or photo to a small group of people? Maybe this is what you're looking for.

Good. It's not a must-have accessory for the iPhone 4/4S, but you'll want to play with it. It lets you project slideshows of videos and photos on iPhone, as well as Netflix movies. First, charge the battery with the included micro USB charging cable, then plug it into your iPhone4/4S. Launch your app, such as Netflix. Press the power button in the lower right corner of the projector stand. A blue light will appear in front of you. Select a movie and click Play. The film will then appear on the surface where you point the phone. Like the projectors we remember from our youth or school, you will need a relatively dark room. The distance from the phone to the surface determines the projected image size. 3M claims that the projected image can be from 6 to 60 inches (diagonally) in size. The walls, the roof, the tent side, the side of your house. everything can instantly become your movie screen. You navigate using the watch face in the top left corner and it works fine. The sound comes from your iPhone. If you need louder sound than you can get from your phone, you can plug in external speakers. In the center of the hand is the third button on the right. This adjusts the video settings. Cinema mode is optimized for watching movies, Web mode is optimized for subtitles, and Eco mode slightly lowers brightness to extend battery life. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this little projector, and that's great because it's not a cheap product. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with non-video apps (no TV output). I wanted to do this because I see many, many business and educational uses for this device. 3M says you can get 100 minutes of projection from a single charge, and that's all I got. You can also use it with a charging cable that plugs into the iPhone's charging adapter if you have access to a wall outlet. Since you can also buy a USB adapter for car charging, you can really use this thing anywhere. There is very little documentation with it. All that's in the box is the box, USB charging cable, and a quick quick guide that contains mostly pictures. But there is a more detailed user guide on the 3M Support site. It's worth watching. Another big surprise for me, not listed anywhere on the 3M packaging, is that it works with my 4th generation iPod!!! There's a bit of space between the inside of the case and the back of my iPod, but I'm afraid I'll get some paper folded in the gaps. iPod is sturdy and stable in this case. If you're having a hard time deciding on a price, 3M designed this case as a battery case too. When your phone's battery is running low, press the button on the back of the sleeve and your phone will start charging. This will save you from leaving the house with a dead phone battery. So, although not a must, if you have an iPhone 4/4S or a 4th generation iPod, this projector lets you share the fun with everyone around you. . I love it!
