4 Sharp widescreen TV at a great price!
Posted by Jarrett
I went to Bestbuy with a friend to pick it up with a 10% off coupon (google the coupon if you want). We did some research and wanted to share some information about it. This TV is a great set for $999. Here are a few things to consider. For more tests and reviews go to Sharp AQUOS LC60LE632U 60 inch 1080p 120Hz LED LCD HDTV, Black. There are similar TVs out there with the exact same screen so you can customize them. As mentioned in other reviews, you need to recalibrate. The difference between day and night! The picture you see on Amazon.com is wrong. The image has 4 HDMI ports and is an image of the LC60LE630U.3. This LC60LE6300U only has 3 HDMI ports. However, if you need more ports, buy an automatic HDMI switcher with the Kinivo 501BN Premium 5-Port High-Speed Switch with Wireless Infrared Remote and Network Adapter - Supports 3D, 1080p. The toggle automatically switches to the last active item. No need to fiddle with additional remotes to get more connections. The screen is matte, not glossy. This edge of the TV is active.6. The sound is good for the average user. I'm not an audiophile or anything, but it sounds... the same. I don't think there's anything a soundbar can't fix. Note that regular speakers aren't much if you want a widescreen TV and don't want to buy 3D technology right away. Drink that! It costs $999. I rate this TV 4.5 out of 5. UPDATE: I just saw on Amazon that it's out of stock...I looked at one for $999. If I paid $1267.72 I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5.

4 Very good for the price

I bought this TV from HHGeg for a great price of $999 and my reviews here are great. I've seen reviews of other sharpening models that require manual calibration to improve image sharpness. I didn't do that. Sound quality: Good, but don't expect a home cinema effect. Setup Features: Set up your TV right away and the process is very simple. It's good value for money, but be prepared to pay when comparing Samsung or LG Update: After tweaking the settings the folks at Amazon (below) suggested, clarity and clarity have improved tremendously and are on par with Bravia or Samsung. I have changed my rating to 4 stars. --------Display Mode: Item under Item under Picture Adjustment: AV Mode: Custom OPC: Off Light Backlight: 0 (Default D) Contrast: +28 Brightness: 0 Color: -4 Hue: +4 Brightness: + 1 Announcement of the default picture settings Temperature: Enhanced Motion Average: Contrast Loss: Gamma Adjustment: +2 Mode Video: Standard Digital Noise Reduction: Off-------------------- ---- --- ------------- ------ --------- I need a blue ray player to view clear videos from a blue ray player how to see a DVD player. Must buy. I don't have an HDMI uplink converter that gives good picture quality with an RGB cable. I'm giving it a star because it's so pretty and looks badass on the wall. :-)

3 Good price, not good quality.

Color Accuracy: (b) If you are not brave enough to enter the service menu, the only color measurement options in this kit are Tone, Hue, and Color Temperature. Even if you dig deeper and enter the section of the service menu, you will not be able to change the color settings of the HDMI input. In the service menu you can only configure the components and inputs of the TV. However, I like the colors I get by playing around with the existing settings. I don't have a test kit to accurately measure the color temperature, so I adjust what I like best. In this case I prefer the warm side (e.g. yellowish white/grey) to the cool side (e.g. bluish white/grey) and that's a personal preference. Once you have your color temperature set, you can use a calibration disc and blue filter glasses (some calibration discs or the THX online store are $2 plus shipping). Here are my settings: Color: -3 Tint: -0 Advanced Color Temperature in Image Settings: Low Black Level: (F) This set often doesn't work here. A good set should be able to show up to 4% under black and this set can show nothing under black. I tried three different calibration discs and different players to rule out any material clipping the signal, but the lowest black level I can see is pure black. Here I want to use a regular pleat pattern from Spears & Munsil. This example shows four bars: 4% bottom, 2% bottom, 2% top, and 4% top black with brightness settings. However, you will have trouble seeing even 2% of the black bars. This is my biggest concern with this set after replacing a 6 year old 42" set that blew out of the water on the black level. After many tries, below is the most tolerable setting for me. Note that this is entirely dependent on the black level in your room. Do yourself a favor and download the free HD 709 calibration disc from the AVS forums and determine the correct values for your device. OPC: No Backlight Backlight: 5 Contrast: 27 Brightness: 8 Panel Uniformity: (d) No wonder you did your homework before purchasing this set. Even more expensive LED kits (like ambient dimming) have issues like flash or light. This set is no different, and how easily it bleeds depends on the occasion. When the Blu-ray player is in screensaver mode, I see three large gray dots. To be honest, it doesn't really bother me because it's not too noticeable except in screensaver mode. Grade: (A+) This set gets the highest score. If you were one of the lucky ones to snag this set on Black Friday, you got a great deal worth $1,000. That's why I didn't send this set back. Any kit would need at least fifteen hundred more to look better than this one. For all categories and above you need three thousand in this size range. All in all, the overall rating depends on the price. At Black Friday prices, the best value of this set increases its rating to 4 stars. However, as that price is no longer available I'm afraid this set doesn't get more than 3 stars at today's price.
