almost perfect

This model replaces LG's mid-range offerings from the past two years, which are currently out of stock at various retailers or in stock. I have done a lot of research between brands and models and I believe this is the best combination of price/performance/features to date. The discounted price is $100 less than the previous model. Size: 37" TVs aren't usually sold in stores, but I think it's a good size with a larger picture than 32" at no extra cost. 40" or 42" is too big for me and usually results in significant price increases. Graphics: The graphics are great and the Image Wizard tutorial helps you get beautiful colors in no time. Viewing angles are excellent and a differentiating factor for the Sony EX series. Sony blurs a lot with a slight change in viewing angles. I was tempted by the LEDs, but the screen reflection was too distracting. I've also seen 120hz models, but IMHO that seems like a lot to say about nothing. I enjoy watching sports and find everything clear at 60Hz. Closer to the store, I noticed that the comparable LG and Samsung were almost identical. Sound: After reading many reviews that said the sound from this class of speakers was terrible, I prepared for the worst. I'm happy with the results and the improvement in "audio noise" is good enough to be confusing (I just wasn't expecting it). In addition to the special mode, there are 5 sound modes; I'm not sure if that's a positive or a negative. I don't see the need to buy external speakers at the moment. [I also found stations where the sound was out of sync with the picture. I connected to the FiOS HD Set Top Box via HDMI. I'm not technical enough to know why, but all my usual stations are fine. It's a non-sync PHD.] Features: There are multiple inputs including USB, but so far I've only used HDMI. If you're not looking for an advanced internet connection and you're willing to pay for it, this is exactly what you need. Personally, I don't think the TV world will switch to 3D anytime soon, and the current offerings certainly will. not ready for prime time viewers. I haven't found a better one for a 1080p 60Hz LCD TV (extra cost). Bottom line: great pictures, great value. I was surprised to find mine at Sears (of all places) at a price that shocked everyone. I usually order from Amazon with Prime delivery, but until last week the prices were unbeatable. My research shows that the prices of all these sets are constantly changing and the best price this week will not be the same next week.

My LCD...

For the price, this LCD screen is simply fantastic. I went to the local store to look for something to put in the dining room to watch the morning news in between other TV shows. After watching all 32, 37 and 40. It's a cut above the rest. I have a Samsung LN46A650 and it's their best TV channel in my opinion and I'm glad I don't have to choose between their inferior TV channels now. I saw clarity, rich 1080p colors, and more. The LG price is comparable to a TV that costs 3 times more. Let me explain. You really need to look at all the features of the TV to make a smart and smart purchase. Don't buy Sony because they are Sony. Don't buy a more expensive TV of the same size because somewhere in our upbringing we were taught that more expensive = better. Not in that case. When looking for a TV, pay attention to how quickly its speeds are divided. Do you see background pixelation around the center image? (eg speeding car, soccer player, etc.) Do you notice any inconsistencies in your backlight? Is the black saturated while the rest of the image is bright? (shiny, not shiny) Does the image look grainy, or is the texture smooth? If you don't know what that means, try not to deal with television equipment. They just make you think one TV is *better* than another. Watch TV and let your eyes decide. After comparing several models in the same size range and factoring in cost, this TV wins by a wide margin. You should try to eliminate the factory reset factor at the store because the store doesn't spend time optimizing *all* TVs. Most modern TVs have more settings than you might think. The main parameters for color, color, brightness are gone. Now gamma, RGB, temperature, etc. Most TVs can be customized to your liking, so it's important to pay attention to the items listed above. This LG delivers incredibly smooth images, no graininess, no pixelation, and colors are rich and vibrant, sticky and bright. Yes, the same size Samsung is just as good, but not over $200 Go and go to your local store and look for the things I mentioned above and you'll find it's a great TV.

We have been looking for a bedroom TV (supposedly LCD and 1080P) for the past few months. It's almost as easy, especially with the discount we got from the store we bought it from (HHGregg), which turned out to be cheaper than Amazon prices. This is our first LG purchase. We usually use Samsung (we prefer the 58-inch plasma) and Sharp (72-inch 720P for the kids' games), but the LG seems the easiest to use. Audio, video, etc. I like the Quick Guide option on the remote that lets you quickly jump to an area of interest to set up. Installation is easy and the display looks amazing. There's no internet access point, but since there's only a TV in the bedroom, we weren't stressed on that front. I would definitely recommend this TV as a new model that will appeal to the general consumer. Enjoy!
