First impression: -------- Wow. I'm really impressed with the Creative Sound Blaster Tactics 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset. It makes my games (and my music) awesome! I hear something I've never heard before! THX TruStudio Pro excels in rich highs and deep bass and everything in between. Really very pleasant to my ears. Features: ------------ I hooked these up to my computer and while they worked perfectly out of the box, downloading the software from Creative's website gave me access to all the bells and whistles , including an equalizer, volume control, volume control and fine-tuning slider for the best sound. The app also lets you control the earbuds' pulsing blue lights. I disabled this feature to save battery as I couldn't see the cool pulse effect when wearing headphones. The Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega is equipped with a steel headband. This makes them very durable and makes them quite comfortable on an average sized head. Before putting them on, I found a bit of "soft elastic" that made them more comfortable to wear. During an extended gaming session, you may need to apply the "soft bend" multiple times each time it starts to tighten. The headset features "over-the-ear" headphones, so you're fully immersed in the sound of your game (or music). The ear pads are made from a very soft "oily" leather-like material - very comfortable. There is also a padded cushion in the headband for extra comfort. The left earcup has volume controls (up and down buttons) and a power button on the bottom. I personally wish the power button was removed as it's easy to accidentally press it when you're wearing headphones and worried about the volume. The headset won't turn off accidentally (you'll have to press and hold the button for a few seconds to toggle it on and off), but you'll wonder why your voice isn't responding. The microphone arm is also on the left side. Headset This is a noise-cancelling microphone that can be removed if you only want to use the headset to listen to music. I set the mic to 50% and my fan fan said it was perfect. No hissing from the wireless network as can sometimes happen with cheap wireless headphones (I own them!). Whether you're gaming or listening to music, it's just crystal clear sound. I walked around my 2,200 square foot house to test the range and found that I could enter any room without losing signal. Impressive! I then got out and made my way to my street mailbox (about 75+ feet from my computer, through the wall) before I started hopping. Even then when I was shut down the signal increased and was as loud and clear as if I was sitting at my computer. With it, I could easily sit on my porch and listen to iTunes on my computer. I'm not sure because I haven't exhausted the battery life yet, but a 4 hour gaming session didn't exhaust it. I leave the headphones plugged in and charge them when not in use. When loading the software, the battery status is shown as a "Battery" icon in the lower right corner of the screen. Configuration:--------Creative Sound Blaster technology can be used with Omega 3D Wireless Gaming Headset. Either PC, MAC, Playstation 3 or XBOX 360. However, each configuration is different. A quick overview that might be helpful or help you decide: * For PC: (Note: I don't own a MAC, but looking at the guide it's a similar setup). Easiest setup ever. . Sound Blaster Tactics 3D Omega comes with four cables. Two USB cables (long and short), one RCA audio cable and one ribbon cable with integrated controls for X360 usage. You only need two USB cables for the PC. The long one goes from the wireless receiver/stand to your computer and the short one goes from the wireless receiver/stand to the headphones for charging. Note: If you want to charge the earphone, you only need to connect the short circuit. Set your computer's default sound to "Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega" and you're done. The only negative thing I can say about the initial setup is that you have to charge the headphones for 8 hours before using them for the first time. 8 hours! Well, not really a negative, just my impatience, but be prepared to wait a bit before using the Omega 3D Soundblaster thing for the first time. :-) As mentioned, it works fine when connected "out of the box", but do yourself a favor and download the app. There is no CD in the box; You have to download it. It works via a wireless headphone receiver/docking station on the back of your TV's left and right RCA audio jacks. Then connect another RCA audio cable from the PS3 (not included, but you can use the audio portion of your console's composite cable for this, even if you're using HDMI) and connect the left and right ends to the track of the transmitter . . The first cable you connect to the TV. The final step is to set the PS3 audio input and output to "Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega" on the XMB. Sound Blaster Strategy 3D Omega Headphones. After connecting your USB cables and enabling RCA audio as in PS3 setup, connect headset cable #4 to your wireless controller. That's right, you're tied to a controller. They're no more "wireless" than the cheap Microsoft headset that came with the XBOX 360. Finally set your audio settings on your XBOX to "Play with Headphones". Conclusion:--------- -------- You cannot transfer Sound Blaster Tactic 3D from Omega PC to PS3 with the extra cables you need for console installation. /XBOX and more. Unless you're planning a very long gaming session, don't exercise regularly! I plan to stay on my computer 99% of the time, but it's nice to have the option to switch to a console if I want to. Other than that, these are the best headphones I've ever had the privilege of using. Not being tied to my desk but still being "in the game" even when I'm AFK is absolutely wonderful. I love the Creative Sound Blaster Tactics 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset and recommend it to all gamers and non-gamers who want the freedom of a quality wireless headset to listen to music on their computer. Some might argue the price, but I don't think it's that expensive considering quality wired headphones are nearly as expensive. Go wireless, you won't regret it!

I was glad to have these headphones because while I like to play a bit before bed, with the "morning break" (sound) my wife closes her eyes before the start of the work day; However, since the TV is next to the bedroom, the volume needs to be kept at a reasonable level so as not to spoil the rest of its beauty, giving me little to no sound. That's why these headphones seemed like a lifesaver. For the PS3, but when I first got it I couldn't put it together properly. Like everyone else, it took me a while (unfortunately days) to realize that I needed to make the most of my PS3 to RCA cable. To start, and since I couldn't connect it to the PS3 at first, I'll tell you how to try it on a Mac. They do terrible things. I tested a lot of music and some videos and the sound was great. The software is a digital download from their website and is required to take full advantage of the headset. It can feel a little heavy at times, but tailoring your software to your stats will help make it easier. You can even save profiles if you want to customize the settings to your own liking. After charging once, I couldn't charge the headphones and I've been using them for a long time. Realizing I needed to find my RCA cables from the PS3 box, I plugged them in, followed the slightly confusing instructions that came with the headset, and off we went. Certainly the sound isn't the best in terms of clarity, but it's more than enough. For the price, you're probably better off buying other console-specific headphones. Although these headphones are advertised as being cross-platform, Mac/PC audio requires a lot more than just listening to the console. Customer service is great with it. Before posting my thoughts on my console frustration, I commented on someone else's review and a few hours later received an email from a customer service rep at the company asking me to contact them about the issues. Finally, with a little patience and guidance, I found out that the HDMI cable was not enough to use it. If you want a good set of cross-platform headphones and don't mind sacrificing quality for a console, this is great. If you make more PC games than console games, do it. However if you want a great set of headphones for the PS3 and/or 360 I would recommend the others. I couldn't try it on Xbox 360 because I don't have it, but from what I've heard it doesn't bother me.

I had an IKEA moment assembling the headphone stand - it's just two pieces of metal that attach to the charging base and anyone can do it. Then I had a DUH moment as I sat and thought how cleverly creative it was to allow inductive charging without connecting the charging dock to the headphones.
