5 Large TV - but no clear advantage over plasma
From Jessie
A little background: there are currently two plasmas in the family. I'm a big fan of their picture quality, black levels, motion control and input lag (PS3 games). I started looking for a bigger TV about three months ago because my 50 inch plasma just didn't fit since we were sitting 14 feet from the screen. Unfortunately, the width of my built-in entertainment center was an important factor. A 50" plasma can't be bigger than it can fit (the 54" Panasonic G25 was 0.5" wider!!). I started looking into LEDs because they were made with thin bezels and therefore fit my entertainment center and are still 55. When I bought this TV, I was very concerned about a few things: with the image quality that may occur with side lighting. very dark scene. I'm looking for her. If I hadn't read about the flashlight on the internet, I probably wouldn't have been noticed. My wife thinks I'm crazy. The flashlight might go out if I get a chance to calibrate the whole thing (I just fiddled with the settings a bit), but I think I can still live with it (and probably forget about it in a few months) b) level B is missing - so I have 6800 anste I bought everything for 6500. The 6800 is equipped with Precision Dimming, a complete set of local dimming from the Samsung Edge-Lite solution. Did I fall for the marketing hype, or was the extra money worth less accuracy? I can't say for sure since I've never owned a 6500, but I'm happy (but not at all surprised) with the black levels of the 6800. I felt the black levels on my old plasma were better. 4:3 or mailbox content sometimes has "bright" black bars instead of solid black. Black levels are mostly acceptable, the 6800 definitely has better color and depth. Some of the shows on this TV are crystal clear, which I have never seen on my old TV, probably due to the color reproduction and brighter display of this LED compared to the Plasma 2. Game launchers - I am a big online FPS (PS3) gamer. I do this on my PS3. COD, Killzone, etc. You mentioned FPS and I played a lot of online multiplayer. Twitter is better. I was very worried about how my game would look on this LED TV. I think I've lost countless hours of sleep with Black Ops and Killzone 3 on the near horizon ;). Well, I'm very happy to report that I don't see any difference in input lag between this LED and my Plasma with Game Mode enabled. Modern Warfare 2 plays very fast and fast as I'm used to. It was a big relief!!! With Game Mode disabled and AMP set to Clear, I could notice some input lag, but it wasn't something to bother any non-FPS/Music game (i.e. any RPGs for gamers, probably , will work with AMP enabled). I didn't notice any unusual blurring or frame drops in game mode... I felt like everything about the gameplay was on par with my old plasma.3. Motion processing. Read about Samsung LEDs online and you'll see a lot of people complaining about frame skipping/stuttering in this year's AMP version. I won't go into all the details because if you're considering this TV, you've probably read some of the complaints online. I watched football for hours this weekend and with all the games and games I didn't see any jumping or stuttering. I put the amplifier on cleaning. For movies, I disabled AMP and noticed frame drops a couple of times. If I hadn't looked for it, I probably wouldn't even have noticed. The train gets an A in my book and I don't see any noticeable difference with my plasma. Blu-ray playback is great on my PS3 at 24Hz! (AMP off) 4. Angle view - I didn't think I would have problems with this, but surprisingly I did. Our kitchen and common room are one large (open) space, so we often watch TV while we cook/clean the dishes. Well, the viewing angle from the kitchen is quite extreme (I would set it to 20/30 degrees if 0 degrees is directly parallel to the TV), but my old plasma (like all plasmas) hasn't lost any kitchen quality. . This set was pretty weak. Of course, we don't see anything "important" in the kitchen, so I can live with the pain. Conclusion: If you feed this set with good equipment and sit right in front of it (which it will for me and my wife 95% of the time), the image is very good in my opinion. Besides being 55 inches (which is a big plus) and more energy efficient, I'm not sure this LED TV can outperform everything plasma has to offer (cheaper, better black, better uniformity, same or better PQ, etc.) d.). my Magically Entertainment Center is 2-3 inches wider, I have no doubt I'll pack this LED and return it straight to a Panasonic 54" G25, 54" VT25, or 58". Samsung C7000 Plasma. Probably (and I'll save a lot of money!) but given my limitations and wanting to have a >50" TV I'm happy with the purchase. sometimes great. I hope the build quality is good and this set lasts for a while, but only if I also get an extended warranty. ***** ***** **** *** ****** * * ******** UPDATE 11/05/10*: TV still works fine (knock on wood ;)) Just wanted to post here's my PS3 settings in case it helps anyone Game Mode is enabled so by default all image processing is off and can't be activated (eg. B. Auto Motion Plus is disabled) I found these settings online, and changes are based on the calibration of Disney Wow Blu-ray Mode: Standard (Forced Standard Game Mode) Backlight: 11Kht Brightness: 94 Brightness: 46 Sharpness: 10 Color: 54 Tint: 50/50 off) Tint: Warm 2 Size: F16 Screen 9 Cable TV to match PS3 for screen) The rest is either OFF or AUTO****** ******************** ******************Updated 01/10/11 TV still works very well ( Let's knock on wood again! I am still very pleased with my purchase. However, Panasonic's 2011 plasma lineup was announced at CES a few days ago, including narrower bezels and finally a 55-inch plasma! I'm not sure if they made the bezels thin enough to fit. Having said that, I just wanted to let everyone know that Panasonic will have a 55" plasma screen in 2011! I have never bought anything this big or expensive online. I was very concerned when I saw CEVA being broadcast on TV as there seems to be a lot of news on the internet about disappointment with CEVA. The first piece of advice I see all the time is to call them directly to arrange delivery. Very true. I ordered on Sunday, received confirmation of delivery from Amazon on Monday. The CEVA tracking system went live on Monday evening with a tracking number provided by Amazon. I spoke to them first thing on Tuesday morning and arranged for delivery on Wednesday. Very helpful and friendly staff at CEVA. The delivery window was from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, but they arrived well after 1:00 pm. Fortunately my wife was at home all day, but if I had taken the time to wait for them, I would have been very upset that they had not appeared at the window. However, no damage was done. The wife said that the couriers are very good. I didn't want them to install it even though they offered it to my wife. The TV box was in perfect condition. CEVA gets an A rating from me. A note to TV buyers: The AVS forums are a great place to find helpful tips. There's a great community there. However, I recommend that you don't spend too much time on this as it can leave you wondering what decision you end up making. Every TV has its ups and downs...just pick your poison. In my opinion, plasma has less "poison", but that's just my opinion. Order on Amazon and you get a nice feedback box if you don't like something. Remember, just because someone likes or dislikes something about Internet TV doesn't mean it affects you the same way.

5 Improved search for TV buyers
Author: sjwnyc
Over the past 6 months, I've researched every TV brand online and in stores and narrowed down the list to Samsung. Deciding I wasn't interested in 3D, I went looking for the best 2D TV with the best picture. Without a doubt, this is the best 2D TV to date. First, it was very easy to plug and play out of the box. I was hoping to calibrate the settings and prepare the CNET tips. To my surprise, the factory photo settings were close to ideal. The key takeaway from this review is that the image quality is truly the best I've seen. Although this device is not symmetrical, like other LEDs, the colors in the image are slightly washed out at very large angles. Otherwise, there are no more problems (no halos). In my opinion, even the sound is above average, but I would choose a soundbar with such a theatrical/sports volume. Again, the picture quality is amazing and you should buy this TV.

5 Absolute beauty
By Journey Sovelt
Like many others, I bought this TV after extensive online research as well as direct comparisons from Best Buy and Costco warehouses. Costco didn't have exactly the same model, but it was the same line with a smaller number, UN55C6300. This Samsung LED TV far outperforms the competition. Other LCD and LED models appear dull and have bright colors. Needless to say, the delivery was very fast and prompt. Picture quality is the same as many others who have bought Samsung LED TVs. It's amazingly clean and so realistic. My wife and I were watching a Boston Redsox game on the New England Sports Network the other day, and she said the game looked like it was being played right in front of her. My living room is too small for a 55" TV, but I wanted a bigger TV as it will replace my main 40" LCD TV that I've had for a few years now. I tweaked the TV settings a bit before going back to factory settings, which will work for most people. I tested this TV with Avatar Blu-ray on PlayStation 3. Damn... you have to see the clarity and flair to believe it. It was an amazing experience for my entire family. Jaw clenched, I picked up the Blu-ray Avatar to watch on Samsung's 46-inch LCD screen, eager to experience the difference between LCD and LED. The difference was pretty obvious. I think the LCD was pretty clear. The color of the LED was much brighter, more vibrant and deeper... It's not 3D, but it looks like we're seeing 3D because of its richness of color and brightness. The sound of the TV is also impressive. Several people mentioned their dissatisfaction with the TV speakers, but I found them adequate and loud enough. Sometimes I have to turn the volume down because my daughter watches her Nickelodeon shows too loudly. I'm not very happy with this TV, the only thing is the remote control. The quality of the satellite image in your car depends directly on the quality of the satellite image in your car. I received several calls from AT&T U-verse asking me to switch to their service and decided to test the picture quality at one of their stores in Southern California. I'm telling you, it's not exactly the same. DirecTV services cost more, but when it comes to picture quality, they are second to none. No matter how beautiful your TV is, if the source of the program is not there, you will not get full satisfaction from your expensive investment. Even the most expensive LED TV is not a magic box that can turn blurry 480p into crisp 1080p. Conclusion: I would have paid €1,000 more for this LED TV than for a comparable LCD model (LN55C6500), but I'm glad I made my decision based solely on the unmistakable picture quality of LEDs. After all, I could pay $2,400 for 24 months with no interest.
