I wanted to do something different

Don't get me wrong, it's a great machine, but it lacks some features that I would like. Graphic Equalizer Want to do more than bass and treble? No, it's not Dolby Digital Plus decoding - sometimes it works, sometimes it goes back to stereo, sometimes it just crashes and needs to be restarted. The Airtunes setup is pretty bad - it inherits the volume control from iTunes (not documented anywhere) and ignores the preamp volume. Until you learn how to adjust the volume in iTunes, which is commonly overlooked, you'll end up with loud sounds, first and accidentally damaging your ears and speakers. It also looks powerful and crisp compared to using the Toslink input, thanks to the shallower bit depth of the side iTunes volume control. If you calculate your input needs with built-in ringtones, add a visual to your needs. (Full disclosure: I'm using lossless compression for my audio - I didn't add any mp3s here and connected to the airport express via toslink and then to the computer via ethernet - not a transmission or source issue) The settings are definitely lower for other companies directly or hearsay. Autoconfig gives strange and contradictory distances between speakers (numbers have nothing to do with reality and change from game to run). The remote, manual and on-screen menu options are for controlling the PS3. No, but that's not a problem. (Edited to clarify the DD+ issue)

Works great so far HDMI switching is slow but I have a Sony TV with the same problem so it's a Sony problem.

A huge improvement over the 333ES I had before.

The sound fields are amazing. Disc channels breathe new life into high-quality Boston Acoustics speakers. I said on my cover that it's like hearing your music like it's new. There's still a lot to learn about the features, but so far so good. Polar Express today!
