I've had this TV for over a week and have spent some time playing with it and watching different TV shows, different movies, both 2D and 3D. I think I have a better idea of how this TV works now. First, let me start with a quick recap of the pros and cons: ** Pros: - Inexpensive - Looks great - 3D quality As LG says, ISF is ready to measure. This is a great entry-level feature - excellent picture quality and color accuracy, especially after proper adjustments - low power consumption for a Plasma TV with intelligent power saving. Less than 100 watts after calibration in 2D mode is not enough for plasma TVs and LCD TVs. ** Cons: - Only 720p. It doesn't bother me as I don't notice any difference in picture quality compared to my 1080p TV unless it's very close. . A big deal, but not disruptive. I'll explain later: It looks like a mirror. This is clearly the problem with all plasma TVs, the technology itself. If your room isn't dark enough or the TV is in front of a window, the brightness may be too low. High-end plasma TVs have some sort of filter or something to reduce glare, but they're more expensive. If your room is too bright, be prepared to buy blackout curtains. Now I would like to go into more detail about my measurement process and how this television works. In fact, TVs in the "cinema" have very good color accuracy and grayscale. . To check color and gray balance in picture mode I used my colorimeter, downloaded the free ColorHCFR calibration software and the AVS HD 709 calibration card. I found Cinema mode to have good gamma, color temperature and light accuracy. Not perfect, but not far off. Contrast could be a bit high but it's pretty good out of the box. If you don't care about the calibration, just switch to film mode and turn on a little contrast and you're good to go. For those who need advanced calibration, the TV has 2 advanced picture modes, 'Expert 1' and 'Expert 2' with small 'ISF' logos. The mods have everything you need for an advanced calibration, whether it's done by an ISF certified professional or by yourself (I'm not an "expert" even if I go to these "expert" mods, they will not closed). Enter one of two "expert" modes, select RGB channels (contrast and brightness), activate color filters to adjust color saturation and hue. The TV also has 20-point grayscale. Curve controls While these can be difficult to use, they allow for more precise grayscale adjustments. It was also the first CMS (Color Management System). And you get secondary color controls not available on the entry-level or mid-range. field of television. I've spent several hours playing with these advanced controls and the results have been amazing. Luminance, gamma and color temperature curves were very close to targets with very low delta values. In fact, they're not as low as I can get them. My graphics screen, but these numbers and graphics are very good for television. After the adjustment, the colors look natural and even, the skin tone is very good. 3D movies are good too. I seem to have noticed some stuttering/creaking in some dark scenes, but this issue appears to be content-related. I've seen very few ghosts in Tangled 3D, Ultimate Wave: Tahiti 3D, and Shrek 1 and 2 3D. Picture mode seems to work independently of different display modes like TV and Blu-ray. I have a Blu-ray player connected to an HDMI port All my edits were done with the Blu-ray player in this view mode. Once you've set everything up and gotten the results you want, there's no way to apply consistent parameters to all inputs. The profile "Expert 1" (in Blu-ray viewing mode) and "Expert 1" in TV mode do not have the same parameters, it does not matter. I had to manually copy the numbers into my notes and transfer them one by one. I find it very annoying, although it's not a big deal and I can fix it. But it's strange. Another thing I find very strange is that the "expert" image profiles are disabled in 3D view mode. So when you watch a 3D movie, all the edited results don't make any sense. I understand that all power saving features are disabled in 3D mode, but are the customized profiles disabled as well? Very rare. Luckily the "Cinema" picture profile still works and as I said it does a good job, this TV doesn't have internet streaming service but who needs it when you're buying a 3D TV, rest assured. Or it will have a 3D Blu-ray player, and all 3D Blu-ray players have internet streaming capabilities. Why should we pay more for the same features on a TV? So this TV is definitely not the best, it's not even close; It's a great TV, especially for the money. Having advanced drawing controls is a huge plus. Great picture quality for the money. I've encountered some annoying but minor issues but I still give this TV 5 stars for quality and value.

Update: lol, so the above post was when I bought my TV (2 months ago). I've had it hanging on my wall since I bought it and everything has been great. Well today the TV made a "POP" noise and shut off after being on for about an hour. It won't turn back on. Hello LG. He died at the age of 2 months. I keep a very clean living space so I know dust is not a problem, I keep the temperature between 74-76 degrees. So can I infer faulty hardware? Maybe this particular TV is the only one in this case, I don't know. But "is life beautiful"? "Feels good now." Amazon does not refund purchases that are outside of the 30-day return window. Thanks again LG!! :)

New version (01/20/2012) PRO: Cheap 3D plasma TV Great greyscale controls Good primary/secondary controls Good picture (very good for the price) Good looking Slim and attractive 3D TV: Resolution - 1024 x 768 (Note: Technically it falls under 720p, but standard 16:9 720p is 1280 x 720 with 921,600 pixels in 1:1 or square format, while 1024 x 768, which is common in computers, has 786,432 pixels in this format: 34th thickness 4:3 TVs/monitors used So 720p here is lower resolution (ie has fewer pixels) than most 720p HD TVs - Black levels are not good for plasmas and power saving modes are terrible for other budget storage images It may be scary compared to TVs: 3D glasses, The LG glasses have a 10 minute auto lock, so most people have to sync multiple times during a movie (it's no big deal, you press a Kn opf on your glasses) Everything still works fine and I'm not easy being electronic + Hours at a time, all day Used for gaming sessions b I also smoke it in my apartment. Just a few quick updates. This plasma display has low image retention. It's not like smoking. After permanent firing, the phosphor retains the image. Attach images very quickly. It's not very noticeable unless it's a white or black area. Anyone using this set should set frame protection to Orbit/Orbital/Orbital (not 100% sure as it says), it's much better than the default setting. Also if you change it to white or color... if you exit the menu it will go back to normal and you will have to reset the orbit. I have calibrated my TV using the i-one colorimeter, the free program ColorHCFR and the free AVS HD709 test image CD from the AVS forums. I recommend it over DVE Disk because it's free, very easy to use, and also has the APL (Average Picture Layer) model, which is a good way to host plasma. The blues in the 709 spec are slightly undersaturated and the color is inaccurate. Whenever I try to fix any of these the brightness gets worse so you have to do it since brightness and saturation are controlled by "Hue". For most non-measuring and uninterested users, you probably won't notice these errors, you probably won't even notice them when you take them out of the drive, I've only seen them in action. meter.NEW EDITION (07/10/2011) Finally I repaired my TV with a DVA device bought from Amazon. I give a thumbs up for the LG 2's calibration. If you access the picture settings and go to the ISF expert settings you will see that this TV has red, green and blue filters... amazing (DVE color filters , but easy to adjust with the TV filter). You can customize each color individually with combinations (magenta, cyan, yellow, etc.). This makes color matching very easy. But I also have to give a thumbs up... You can't get audio from a USB source out of the optics onto the TV... boooooo. The LG50PW350 is probably the cheapest 50 inch 3D TV you can buy. . . It's not 1080p but 720p looks good and good enough for me. Sure, there are better plasma TVs out there, and you won't get the black levels of Pioneer's Kuro, but the Kuro is over 3K and this TV is only 750. I chose this Panasonic 1080p 50in 3DTV because it costs $500. The older VGA (15-pin D-Sub) has a PC input. The optics are off... I thought it would be weird and useless but it's actually a good idea because you can use a USB flash drive or external drive to decode the audio so the movies go to the receiver walk. Read above (edit...doesn't work) Video format: Via USB, this TV supports H.264, MPEG 1, 2 or 4 video formats. MP2, MP3, DD, AAC, HE-AAC, LCPM for audio (and since you don't have to use FAT32 partitions, you can play large files without streaming from PS3, like a dumb PS3). A warning: the energy saving star is a kind of BS. If you want a good picture you have to turn off the battery saver mode or the white is horrible (like watching TV with sunglasses) If you have a lot of money and want the best... it's not. And I'd probably get a Kiro for the high-end ($3,000+) or a Panasonic or Samsung plasma for the mid-range ($1-2,000). But you get a lot more TV for the money. I recommend this TV for people who swear they can tell the difference between 1080p and 1079p and aren't interested in video. They want 3D and HD but don't want to spend a fortune.
