It works fine with XBMC most of the time. However, it doesn't run hopelessly 1080P and I also get an error related to enabling external players. Anything that doesn't involve using XBMC works fine. Fun device to play with, but still I wouldn't recommend it for a media player until the kinks are worked out.

If one of its competitors, the X3 Android 4.0 Media Box with Wireless Mouse, was available in black, I probably wouldn't spend the extra $30.00 to try it out before someone else reviews it. (I like the white color better but thought it stood out too close to my black soundbar) Still don't know if the X3 Android 4.0 media box with wireless mouse will be better but I don't want to test it with set right now on. Done, more or less, and I decided to keep it, but I can't say I'm happy. Hopefully they fix it before my DirecTV contract expires in a year and I have to live with this box. First, there is no documentation for this. The website printed on the box only had broken links, and an email to the contact address went unanswered. The overall setup was pretty intuitive, at least for those familiar with Android. Tip: Allow the system to update the software before installing it, otherwise you will have to restart after the update is complete. This may not be a problem for you, but my WiFi connection has a 128-key passcode. Didn't like injection twice. So far I haven't been able to connect the box via bluetooth to my android card or phone or whatever. I can press the power button but then it freezes and eventually turns off. And the remote is there. The first was faulty, at least without a battery. It doesn't have a battery compartment so I didn't try hacking the drive until the replacement arrived. The replacement works well but is very difficult to use, especially swiping with it (hence the idea of plugging in my card and using the keyboard). I'll be very interested to see how long it can hold up while continuously pressing the OK button. I also wonder if the "backbone" of the video channels is affected by the temperature of the device. It is quite warm in my area even though there is a lot of air moving around. I use the box on a LG 50PK750, a 50 inch plasma TV Summary, the box is a good idea, xbmc is a good idea, but both are not ready yet.

The box is nice but not what I was looking for. Video and audio stopped while running xbmc. Others say they work great, but I don't. So I went back and got a xios ds.
