Overall, I think this is a good TV, but it has a few issues that may or may not be for you. 1) The images are excellent. images are very clear, colors are accurate. I have two small 720p HDTVs and you can see the difference. 2) the bracket does not move. The TV is mounted vertically and cannot be tilted or turned sideways. That's fine with me, but I'll point it out if it offends some. 3) The TV comes with installation instructions but no user manual. I guess this is a point against Toshiba, but it doesn't matter because you can download PDF files for free from Toshiba's website. If you want to know different picture size settings like "Original", "Full", "Theater Wide 1" etc., you need a manual. 4) Sound is not good but clear. The smaller the TV, the better. I think they should have done better here, but if you bought a 46 inch TV, you're probably hooking it up to some sort of stereo/audio system. My stereo sound is fine, so I don't really care about the sound on my TV. If you don't plan on hooking it up to some kind of sound system, you'll be disappointed with the sound. 5) Rear connections for audio output including optical/digital output (mini box jack) and analog output (RCA jack). Believe it or not, having an analog audio output is a big selling point for me. When I say it has stereo, I really mean it. I don't have a more modern Dolby 5.1 device. I'll probably get around to it eventually, but for now I'd like to connect the TV to an old fashioned stereo that doesn't have an optical connection. This means I need a TV with an RCA connector for audio output. Other TVs like the SONY models I've seen only have optical/digital outputs so I can't connect the two. If you have an old stereo, look for this. 6) It's LED, so it's very thin, only 2 inches thick. 7) The prices here on Amazon are $100 less than other places, I am very happy with the TV. The only thing that let me down was the sound, but my stereo handled it.

I bought this TV from Fry's for an amazing price of $699. The idea behind this is to provide a great LED image at a low cost, without any frills. does it feel? Yes, it hurts. "Smart" Internet capabilities. Not here. But the picture is great and I run it through my home theater for sound. And if you're going to spend over $600 on a TV, why not? I don't understand people complaining about flat screen TV sound. It's like buying an iPod and complaining that the sound coming out of the one-inch built-in speakers isn't great. That's not why... you have to plug it into compatible headphones or receivers to make it sound good. Anyway, this TV did what I expected and more. It's definitely not the best, but it exceeded my expectations. This is an energy-saving LED lamp with excellent image quality. Besides the sound and the lack of smart TV features (which I was aware of before I bought it), the only negative I found with this case is that when the screen is black, you can see the LED light from the corner. I can't see anything on the screen, not even with the black lines of the mailbox, but the screen is completely black. I don't mind, but if you get this TV for the right price and don't expect too much from the build, I recommend it.

I just found it at Fry's for $599. Very nice unit - great design, good picture but very poor sound. There is no dynamic range and it looks very flat, small and unnatural. While other reviewers say this is to be expected from a flat screen, my experience shows that this is not true as I have 7 other flat screens (mostly Sony and Samsung) and they don't look bad at all. I only paid $599, so I'm getting a good deal at this price, but I wonder what Toshiba was thinking when they put 29 cent speakers in this unit; i will call them and ask. BTW, while the device was in my cart in the fridge, I checked my iPhone reviews and read about the sound issue, but I wondered how bad it could be. I understand, it's sad. Consider adding a soundboard. Zvox makes a good one for around $250.
