I ordered this receiver as an upgrade to my home theater system. Setup is easy and performance is excellent. The interface is quite easy to set up and internet videos work well. This "but" is due to connection problems with Sony's 3D Bluray player. When the player is connected directly to my projector, the HDMI works fine and I can access the player's menu system. However, when connected via the receiver, the Bluray player is not detected until the movie starts. The player menu cannot be used when connected by the receiver. I spent several hours connecting HDMI cables to various ports. Enabled the player menu once, but then reverted to the default non-player menu behavior. If it wasn't a problem I would get 5 stars. Automatic tuning with microphone input is a real bonus.

My old Sony ES receiver's power supply died over the holidays after 15 years of service, so I needed to find a replacement ASAP. After a quick review online, I found the DA2880ES 7.2, the 21st generation version of my old Sony ES model. century equivalent. So I ordered next day delivery and it was the next day. Couldn't be happier. Smaller and lighter than my old Sony, but with all the features and capabilities I needed at the time. Sounds great on my personal speaker. The auto-tuning function worked really well to balance my 6.1 speakers so I didn't have to spend an entire vacation setting everything up. I look forward to enjoying music and video with this Sony for the next 15 years.
