I'm not an LCD TV expert, just someone who needs a new TV. It will eventually be used in the bedroom, but for now it is in the living room. Not being a great room, it opens to the kitchen and has a vaulted ceiling. For several months I have been studying reviews of various models online, hoping to at least find out which manufacturers have the most maintenance issues to avoid this aggravation and which brand has the best image quality. I also visited showrooms to see what suited me best. After my research, I narrowed my search down to a 720p TV, because while 1080p certainly produces higher picture quality, it's not as critical for a 32-inch or smaller TV. Since new TVs usually come out in March, I plan to buy a discontinued model and take advantage of the sales. Unfortunately, I waited too long and the two options I was focused on were no longer available. This TV met my needs, the price was right, and Panasonic was one of the two brands I chose. Light and easy to handle, just assemble the bracket with a few screws, and then attach it to the TV with a few more. I already had a composite video/audio cable, which is good because Panasonic doesn't have one. The cable has three plugs at each end: one red, one white, and one yellow. Red and white are for left and right audio, and yellow is for video. Both the cable and the TV have ports on the back of the same color for easy connection: video out on the cable device and video in on the TV. An additional step I took to get HD programming from my local stations was to connect the main internal antenna by screwing the antenna cable into the connector of the same name on the back of the TV. This gave me two benefits: I can watch HD content in Full HD without increasing the cost of my basic cable TV plan, and if the cable goes down, I can still watch TV. I put the batteries (included) in the remote and turned on the TV. The first screen asked for the language (English, Spanish, or French), then offered the option to choose the display mode: home use or in-store demo. Then the picture settings screen came up and I left it on default Vivid (choice of Vivid, Standard, Cinema, Game or Custom). clicking on the remote: menu, tools, restore default settings. It then proceeds to automatically tune to the channel, but if you're using a cable box, select "not used." If you are using an antenna, select "antenna", then select "Start" to begin scanning for channels. After that, you can connect each of the inputs for antenna, DVD player, cable box, etc. Then a screen will appear to set the clock for the year, month, day, hour and minute. Then a completion message will appear and you're done. The TV can be connected to a computer and used as a monitor. I missed episode 24 during the Olympics. The network's website lets you watch episodes from the current season, so I simply plugged an HDMI cable from my laptop into the HDMI port on the back of the TV. This allowed me to watch the episode I missed on my TV instead of on my laptop's small screen. The speakers are unidirectional, 10-watts, typical of built-in TV speakers. Note that there is no analog audio output or headphone jack. There is an optical digital audio output. I haven't hooked up a separate receiver and speakers for sound enhancement, at least not yet, but if you're worried about great sound, you'll probably want to explore the possibilities. hard corner without compromising quality. My only complaint is that the volume doesn't change significantly when zoomed. The TV has a decent maximum volume setting, but if the setting is set to 30 and you want it to be a bit louder, you may need to turn it up to 60 before you notice an increase in sound. The steps seem too small. The TV has a glossy black piano-like body that some people find hard to care for, but fingerprints and dust wipe off just fine with a microfiber cloth, and I like the look. but I purchased an additional two year extended warranty from Square Trade as it is a new model and therefore has no history. I've been using the set for two weeks and so far I haven't had any problems and I'm very happy with my purchase, but if there are any problems I'll update the review.

I purchased this Panasonic Viera TCL32C22 at PC Richards hardware store in New York/NJ. The minimum price was $399 and I paid $349. Let me start by saying that I have a video production company, so I sit in front of the TV all day. When HDTV came on the market, I wasn't impressed with the picture quality. On closer inspection, most HDTVs I've seen show horrible artifacts due to the MPEG-2 compression used to transmit the signals. network because I know that the NY Yankees games are broadcast in high definition. I was very impressed with the clarity and color of the image. There were no visible artifacts even when sitting inches from the screen. I looked through the high resolution channels and found images of several varieties. Some channels just stretch the picture and add the "HD" logo to it, so you really need to watch the broadcast in high definition to appreciate it. My next step was to connect the DVD player using a set of analog component cables. I have chosen two DVDs: the BBC's Planet Earth series for the beautiful images it contains and the Hollywood film There Will Be Blood for its photography and sound. TV combination without my settings. From ten feet, the images were wonderful. The color turned out to be rich and bright. A black block was visible from the side of the screen; but when I sat a few feet away, the MPEG-2 artifacts disappeared. I loaded There Will Be Blood into my DVD player. The picture was great and the sound was fantastic. For a more detailed review please visit my blog: [...] UPDATE JULY 22, 2010 I had an intermittent issue, not sure if it was the Blue Ray player, FIOS case or Panasonic monitor but finally figured it out. Sometimes after the monitor has been running for at least a few hours the sound goes crazy. I can't even begin to describe what it sounds like, the dialogue is reduced to about 10% of the audio and the distorted and overmodulated audio echo of the dialogue itself (or whatever is playing) takes up about 90% of the soundtrack. . That said, you can probably make out the dialogue if you listen closely, but who would want to watch a show like that? At first I thought it was my DVD player. I recently bought a Panasonic Viera Blue Ray player (which is not 100% remote control compatible by the way) and found that I still have trouble watching DVDs sometimes. The problem also occurs when streaming Netflix videos through a Blue Ray player. Turning the monitor off and back on fixes the problem. You just need to make sure to turn off the monitor with the FIOS remote because the monitor remote also turns off the Blue Ray player (by dropping the Blue Ray disc in the top menu). I never understood what the problem was. bad enough to make me turn on the tv. I don't have the box and I feel a lot of effort from the dealer. . .

On New TV!!!
if you pass perfect CRTS. I bought it at best for $300 and it's great. if adjustments and black levels and all that shit is your thing, this might not be for you. but if you want a hassle-free plug and play TV, then this is for you. find a sports channel in HD and you will see that it is worth every penny. I compared this model to a similar LG and chose the Panasonic solely because of price ($75 less when I bought the Panasonic). Don't be fooled by all this 1080p talk, either: with a TV this small (compared to 50-60 inches), 720 won't ruin your TV or movie viewing experience. Use that extra $100-$150 and buy a Blu-Ray player or a new TV stand.
